Our Mission
The mission of the Cultural Arts Commission of South Lyon is to encourage, facilitate, present and promote visual and aural art forms in the City of South Lyon so as to benefit and enrich the City and its residents.
The Commission
The Cultural Arts Commission of South Lyon is a 5 member commission charged by the City of South Lyon to strategically integrate art in all of its myriad forms into the community. Simply, the CAC is “helping build a community through art.” In the CAC’s first year we have developed By-Laws, created a Mission Statement and designated our initial project to be a gallery show of art from the community's upcoming artisits in the South Lyon area high schools.
Our Vision
Additional goals of the Cultural Arts Commission of South Lyon include developing CAC Friends in the community to support and implement CAC projects. Some of those projects include a gallery show profiling young, talented artitists , creating a Top Ten Project List and Map for future projects, exploring fund raising opportunities, generating an artist contact list for future events and looking for specific locations in the community for outdoor murals, paintings and sculpture.
